Two dynos under one roof

Hub for repeatability. Roller for everything else. Both run in-house.

Dynapack hub dyno bolted to a vehicle's hubs Hub

Dynapack hub dyno

Bolts directly to your hubs. No tyre slip, repeatable numbers. Best for AWD, high-power, and steady-state work.

  • Direct hub mounting, no slip losses
  • Steady-state load control across the rev range
  • Repeatable to the kW, run after run
Dyno Innovations roller dyno with car strapped down Roller

Dyno Innovations roller

For cars that don't suit the hub. Strap it down, drive on, run it.

  • Handles cars with awkward hub geometry
  • Inertia and load runs both supported
  • Quick turnaround for power runs

How a session runs

Peak power is the easy part. The bulk of the day is everything else: idle, cruise, transients, cold starts.

  1. 01

    Dyno tune

Strap the car down and step through fuel, ignition, boost, cam timing. At every load and rpm point. Logged, repeated, refined until the map is right.

  2. 02

    Road tune

Cold starts, idle, part-throttle cruise, transient response. The stuff a dyno can't replicate. We finish every tune on the road.

  3. 03

    Sign-off

Final dyno run for the graph. You leave with peak figures, the calibration on the ECU, and notes on what was changed.

Our scope of services

ECU calibration

Custom map written for your car. Fuel, timing, boost, cam timing, all dialled in on the rollers and finished on the road.

Flex fuel tuning

ECU set up to read ethanol content and adjust on the fly. Run E85, 98, or a mix. One tune handles it.

Power runs

Power runs on the Dynapack so you've got real numbers on paper. Hubs not rollers, less slip, repeatable.

Track prep

Higher rev limits, launch control, flat-foot shifting. Set up for the track, not the street.

Fault diagnosis

Put it under load on the rollers and find problems that don't show up on a road test.

Re-tunes

Added parts since your last session? We'll update the map to match the new hardware.

ECU tuning software during live calibration session

Factory or standalone. We tune both

Most cars don't need a standalone. Factory ECU reflash or piggyback covers a lot of ground. Once you're into serious hardware, a standalone gives us full control.

"Really pleased with the service at Revzone. Jeff was very prompt and patient with his email responses to my queries and I love what they've done to my 86. Pricing was fair and service was great."

"I came to RevZone with my 2017 STi after Subaru either couldn’t fix my issue—or couldn’t understand it. (Let’s just say “dealer-level expertise” didn’t exactly inspire confidence.) It was genuinely refreshing to deal with people who understood performance cars, not just dealer-level servicing, and didn’t treat me like I’d just learned what a spark plug was. I started bringing my car here for logbook servicing while they worked through the problem. It took time, patience, and plenty of trial and error, but we eventually nailed the issue—much to my relief (and probably theirs). Over more than seven years, they kept my STi in top shape until I moved interstate. Even then, they went above and beyond—helping me find another trusted mechanic through their contacts and even providing a quote for a price comparison. If you want honest, capable, and car-obsessed people working on your pride and joy, RevZone is your place."

What people ask before booking

How much does dyno tuning cost in Melbourne?
Starts from $1,300. Price depends on the car, what's been done to it, and which ECU platform we're working with. Get in touch with your details and we'll give you a straight number.
How long does a dyno tune take?
We usually need the car for a full day, sometimes overnight. The dyno work is only part of it. We road tune as well to sort out cold starts, part-throttle response, and how the car drives day to day.
Is dyno tuning worth it?
If you've spent money on mods, a tune is what ties them together. Without one, you're leaving power on the table and potentially running the engine outside safe limits. Even a stock car picks up power and throttle response from a proper map.
What cars can you dyno tune?
Japanese and European performance cars. 86/GR86, BRZ, WRX/STI, 370Z, GT-R R35, Civic Type R, GR Yaris, plus BMW, Audi, VW, and more. We run a Dynapack hub dyno and a Dyno Innovations roller dyno, so 2WD and AWD are both covered.
Do I need to book for dyno tuning?
Yeah, book ahead so we can set aside the right amount of time. Give us a call or send through your details online.
What dyno do you use?
Two. A Dynapack hub dyno that bolts directly to your hubs (no tyre slip, repeatable numbers) and a Dyno Innovations roller dyno. Both handle high-power cars.
Do I need a standalone ECU?
Depends how far you're going. Most factory ECUs can be reflashed or piggy-backed and that's enough for a lot of builds. Standalones like Link, Haltech, or MoTeC give us full control and make more sense once you're into serious hardware.
