Common questions
- Do you tune both FK8 and FL5?
- Yes. We tune both generations on Hondata FlashPro. The FL5 ECU has to be jailbroken first before it'll talk to a flash tool; the FK8 doesn't. Both respond well once we're in.
- Is the Type R reliable with mods?
- The K20C1 is a strong engine. With quality parts and sensible power, modded Type Rs daily drive and do track days without drama. Most failures come from cheap parts or bad tunes, not the platform.
- What gains can I expect from a tune?
- On a stock FK8 or FL5, a tune alone adds 20–30 kW at the wheels. Add a high-flow intake and you're at 35–45 kW. A full bolt-on package lands 50–70 kW.
- Do you tune other Hondas, or just the Type R?
- Any Honda that Hondata supports. FlashPro covers the Type R, Civic Sport, and Accord 2.0T. KPro handles older K-series cars like the DC5 Integra and EP3 Civic. We're Australia's authorised Hondata dealer, so hardware, install, and tune happen in one visit.
- Can you fit parts I've bought elsewhere?
- Yes, but we can't warranty the fitment or quality of parts we didn't supply. Sourcing through us keeps the whole job under one warranty.
- How long will my car be with you?
- Tune only: same day. Intake + tune: same day. Full bolt-on: 1–2 days. Suspension setup: 1 day. We'll confirm timing when you book.
