Common questions
- Do you tune both the GR Yaris and GR Corolla?
- Yes. Both run the G16E-GTS 1.6 turbo three-cylinder and GR-Four AWD, and EcuTek supports both. The job is the same on either car: EcuTek licence, custom dyno tune, then a road drive to check it.
- How much power does a tune add?
- About 25 kW from RZ Stage 1, and about 50 kW from RZ Stage 2 with the intake, downpipe and intercooler. Both are estimates until we've dynoed a car on each package, and the number moves with your fuel and which car you have. For a bigger build, our GR Corolla with Kelford cams, a dump pipe, intake and intercooler made 200.4 kW and 413.4 Nm at the wheels on 98.
- How much does a GR Yaris or GR Corolla tune cost?
- RZ Stage 1 is $1,895 with the EcuTek licence included. RZ Stage 2 is quoted per car, because the price depends on which intake, downpipe and intercooler you pick.
- What does RZ Stage 2 add?
- An intake, a downpipe, and an intercooler, fitted and tuned together. The intake and downpipe let the turbo breathe in and out. The intercooler keeps intake temperatures down, so the car holds its power on a hot day or a long session.
- Can I start with RZ Stage 1 and add RZ Stage 2 later?
- Yes. Your EcuTek licence carries over. We fit the parts and retune the car for them.
- What's in the brake package?
- Endless MX72 pads front and rear, Paragon rotors, braided brake lines, and Endless fluid. It's for cars that do track days and still get driven on the street. The same parts fit the GR Yaris and the GR Corolla.
- Will a tune void my warranty?
- Toyota can refuse a warranty claim on related parts if they find the car's been modified. The tune can be put back to stock. If your car is still under factory warranty, talk to us before you book.
