The brief
Owner wanted the GT-R to sound like a VR38 twin turbo. No drone on the freeway. The HKS Legamax Premium does both.

The system
Two products. The HKS Legamax Premium catback: hand-welded stainless, twin muffler boxes with a balance pipe between them, quad burnt titanium tips that sit clean in the factory diffuser cutouts. The twin chambers cancel cruise drone while still flowing for the turbos.
In front of it, the HKS mid-pipe with no silencers. Opens the VR38 up above the mufflers without losing the catback’s cruise manners.


The install
Factory mid-pipe and catback off, HKS in their place. Bumper down for clearance, tips fitted, bumper back up. No cutting, no welding. Warmed through and leak-checked before it came off the hoist.

How it sounds
Deeper at idle without being loud. Civil at part throttle. Get into the boost and the VR38 finally sounds like what it is.
No drone at cruise. No CEL. Factory cats stay.
